Not a Church for the faint hearted!
Contemplation in the quiet interior is suddenly interrupted by spectacular creaks and groans, a sudden noise which can surely only be only be the shooting of substantial bolts across the robust church door. Are we in the presence of a restless soul intent on revenge?. Have we fallen victim to an eager churchwarden, all too conscious of his cooling tea, locking the door for the night and by now half way back to his scones and grandchildren?
Of course not, the noises have much more mundane origin. High in the tower the venerable clock is preparing itself for the coming hour. The noises just exercises as it prepares to order time.
A very bright church with a large and well kept churchyard, containing many mature trees on a sloping site. The substantial building has been much restored over the years, so evidence of 12'th and 14'th century structure can be found mixed in with later work.
The well situated organ over the chancel arch has plenty of space to speak into the nave.
